Resource was hired to prepare a Major Permit Amendment Application #4 for Ashcake Road Landfill Permit #574. This permit amendment's primary focus consisted of changing the bottom liner system design to a 60-mil HDPE textured liner and the closure cap system design to use a 40-mil HDPE texture liner.

Using 17 years of successful operation, Resource obtained local approval for a 40 foot vertical expansion for the Ashcake Road construction, demolition and debris (CDD) landfill.  The expansion provided an additional 624,000 cubic yard of disposal air space (approximately 5 years of additional site life).

Resource has provided Prince Edward County with solid waste management engineering services on an ongoing basis since 1983. Prince Edward County owns and operates a single, 102-acre landfill and the County generates approximately 42 tons per day of municipal solid waste and accepts another 16 tons per day from a neighboring locality.

In 2014, the City of Richmond entered into a contract with Resource International, Ltd to conduct a solid waste characterization study. The purpose of the study was to assist the Department of Public works in assessing the effectiveness of its curbside recycling program operated in coordination with the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority.
